Justin Hoffmann
Wildlife Photographer & Adventurer
As a wildlife photographer based in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, naturally, much of my work is in this area. I’ve travelled and photographed wildlife in a couple parts of the world but not many. I have a soft spot for Scotland and tend to embark on adventures into the wilds of Scotland whenever possible. Most often, I seek out isolated areas and wild camp with my canine companion, Levi. Completely immersed in nature with little to no modern-day distractions. It’s just me and Levi, living in the wild outdoors, flowing with the rhythm of nature. I use the word flowing because more often than not, I travel to these remote places by canoe.
I like capturing clean images that have an artistic characteristic to them. I achieve this by studying the subject, observing the conditions, the light, colours, textures, angles, foregrounds, backgrounds and of course employ technical camera techniques. As well as capturing beautiful wildlife images, for me, wildlife photography is also about true appreciation, being aware of your surroundings, and being in tune with nature. This sense of connection inspires me to head out rain or shine, each adventure beginning right from my doorstep.
I am also a professional Designer and Corporate Photographer with 25 years of experience. I have managed, designed, filmed, and photographed projects for many highly regarded clients and employers—among them, Oxford University and Pearson Education. My wildlife images have been published in two Capstone Publishers publications. Additionally, my commercial photography and design work feature in numerous educational resources, which are used daily by schoolchildren, university students, and adults all over the world. It’s highly likely that you or your children have seen my work.
